Good afternoon, EVILEG community.

I hope that someone else remembers this site and the project on which I made many mistakes, learned a lot and thanks to which I was able to significantly change my life.

I had a short break between projects, or rather, I don’t have any projects at the moment and I’m on temporary rest.

After two weeks of procrastination, I got around to some things that needed to be done a long time ago:

• Remove obsolete dependency on EVILEG-CORE , public part of the site code
• Redesign the website
• Remove some sections that just get in my way.

And now this moment has come.

EVILEG-CORE Archived

First of all, I've wanted to archive EVILEG-CORE for a long time. In fact, it becomes difficult to support such projects alone when they grow to a certain level.

Yes, it is a good experience to become an experienced Full Stack developer. Because in this case you get the following experience:

• Server administration (Linux, Ubuntu, PostgreSQL, nginx)
• Frontend work (CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript frameworks)
• Working with backend (Python, Django)
• Independent solution of various problems
• Support public libraries, even if they are not widely used
• Over time, you come to understand how something can be done better, and most importantly, how to offer the best solution at your main job.

But now the time has come to archive EVILEG-CORE and never return to it again, simply because the technical debt has become quite large in this part of the code, and there is no strength, time, and most importantly, motivation to support it.

Redesign the website

I decided to give up my own website design in favor of Bootstrap. The solution is trivially simple - I will not need to do any additional support for the website styles. In fact, design and styles are a separate part of the work, which takes up quite a lot of working time.

So in keeping with the philosophy of Okama's blade, I decided that this minor part should disappear from my pet projects until they become something bigger.

Delete some sections

I have already removed some sections that I considered unnecessary in the past, but now the dialogues and personal messages will go under the knife. Simply because I do not want to solve many problems that people come to me with in personal messages. Such things are professional consultation, which costs money.

So the only place where I might respond to questions is:

• Comments to articles

Conclusion

I am glad that the site has brought useful information to many and was able to help at least in some way. Now I will direct my efforts to this site only as a professional personal blog with a forum and will not try to make something similar to large IT platforms out of it. It is worth simply admitting that I did not succeed.

However, registered users of the site will still have the opportunity to write their own post. Although, let's be honest, only spammers do this now, and I constantly block them.

While writing this post, at one point I thought that this looked like Post-Mortem. However, no, this is just the closing of the current chapter and the opening of the next one.
