How compile QT for static usage?

Was wondering if there exists a guide on this site on compiling QT libraries for static environment?

Hello!


Unfortunately I haven`t articles about static build of Qt, because of I haven`t any reasons for this way of creating program package. Program package with shared libraries is more flexible, than static build. And build of very very very big projects is faster than static build.

    Hi!

    That is too bad as it is a topic of interest. Last year I was able to compile a couple static libraries of both 5.8 with SSL 32 + 64 bit kits respectively. I had followed various guides on the internet. Not sure I was 100% successful but works most of the time. If the application is small enough its easier to copy on to a usb key if its static. Was curious how you guys would do the same as I am finding your site full of good study material. Much appreciate all the tutorials.

      I thought about writing tutorial about static build. But... I don`t know. sometimes somebody asks me about this.
      I will think about this one more  Thank you for question.


      P.S. Also, if you have experience and knowledge about programming on Qt/Qml, you could write articles on this site (if you want).
